Yes, we are registered with SACAP. Only persons who are registered and in good standing with SACAP can prepare a building plan.
• Do I need a building plan for a carport or swimming pool?
Although classified as minor works, you do require building plans and council approval.
• Do I need building plans for any alterations and additions?
According to the National Building Regulations, if you build onto an existing home, you will have to submit building plans and we can assist you with this.
• Council cannot find my existing plans, what can I do?
We can assist you by measuring up and redrawing it into a CAD system as a As-Build.
• Do you submit plans to the municipality and how long does approval take?
Yes, we submit building plans to the municipality. Depending on the complexity, on average it can take approximately 3-6 months and in some cases even longer to due councils processes.
• Do you assist with building plans that require a heritage application?
We do assist with building plans and the submission of heritage applications to the municipality as well as to the HWC (Heritage Western Cape).
• I want to sell my property, do I need to update my building plans?
It is not a requirement , however, banks do request for updated building plans before granting any finance.
• Do you do assist with collecting Title Deeds?
Yes, at an additional fee, we can collect and send you copy of the Title Deed.
• Does 4D Studio provide project management?
Yes,we do offer project management.
• Do you do site visits during the construction phase?
At an additional fee, we recommend regular site visits and/or inspections for quality control on the project until completion.
